Coronel Philippe

Colonel Philippe D. Rogers graduated with degrees in History and French from the University of Virginia in 1986 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant that same year. Upon completion of The Basic School and flight training he was designated as a Naval Flight Officer and went on to fly A-6E Intruders and F/A18 Hornets. His operational assignments include various combat and peacetime tours with Marine aviation squadrons and ground units. He commanded units at the company, squadron, and 0-6 battalion level, and was a Team Site Commander during a U.N. mission to the Western Sahara. Colonel Rogers participated in combat operations in the Persian Gulf War, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Iraq, and he supported humanitarian missions to Haiti and Africa. His staff tours include being the 1st Inspector General ever and plank owner at Marine Corps Special Operations Command; Deputy Director Operations, Plans, Policies, and Operations, Headquarters, Marine Corps; Chief of Staff Operations for 3d Marine Aircraft Wing (FWD); and European Policy Desk Officer, U.S. European Command. He has over 2,200 hours in tactical jets and over 100 combat missions during four combat tours. He is airborne qualified as well and loves jumping out of planes (that he’s not flying), and has French, British, Czech, Slovak, Belgian, and South African jump wings. Colonel Rogers was the Distinguished Honor Graduate at both the Expeditionary Warfare School and the Naval War College and also attended the French War College and MIT’s Seminar XXI. He has four Masters Degrees, starts his Doctorate in the fall, and speaks French and Spanish. He is currently the Ukraine, KFOR, Resolute Support, Libya, Syria, and Readiness Action Plan Land Force Planner, stationed at U.S. Military Delegation to NATO, NATO Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium, as well as the Senior Marine at NATO. His passions are Marines, leading Marines, speaking to Marines, learning from Marines, promoting Marines, awarding Marines, reenlisting Marines, and helping Marines out in any way, shape or form
